Job summary

Nexus Health in Berwyn, IL is seeking a Maintenance Director to oversee the facility's maintenance operations, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems. You will manage the maintenance team, train staff, and ensure safety and compliance across all building systems.

You will develop and monitor the annual maintenance budget, maintain logs, and supervise contractors as needed. This role requires coordinating with residents and families to ensure a safe, well-maintained living

Qualifications

• Must be able to handle multiple tasks and priorities with excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work with different levels of technical or professional personnel, including outside contractors.
• Relate well to residents and their families.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Minimum requirement of high school diploma or equivalent.
• Nursing Home Experience.

Responsibilities

• Establish and/or follow a schedule to oversee continuous maintenance of all systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical) for safe operation.
• Train new and existing staff in community and state-required policies and procedures.
• Remain on-call for emergency repairs or maintenance issues.
• Maintain logs tracking maintenance of building and grounds.
• Order approved maintenance-related products and supplies for repairs and ongoing maintenance.
• Follow budget guidelines and assist in developing the annual maintenance budget; maintain inventory and loss control.
• Hire, schedule, and supervise the maintenance department; conduct performance reviews and complete employee paperwork.
