Job summary

Arcadia Care in Bloomington, IL is seeking an experienced Maintenance Director to plan, organize, and direct the maintenance department within a licensed care facility. You will ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment compliant with regulations while coordinating with administration.

You will lead preventive maintenance, supervise staff, manage budgets, and coordinate with vendors toRepair or replace as needed.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a maintenance/plant role.
• Knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, and mechanical/electrical/plumbing systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
• Licensed in accordance with applicable standards and laws.
• Must read, write, speak and understand English.
• Ability to make independent decisions.
• Strong interpersonal skills with residents, staff, and the public.
• Knowledge of maintenance practices and regulatory guidelines for nursing facilities.
• Plan and carry out repair, new construction, and equipment installation programs.
• Relate information concerning resident conditions.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Maintenance Department.
• Coordinate maintenance with other departments and report to Administrator.
• Establish a preventive maintenance program.
• Repair facility/resident property and coordinate with outside vendors as needed.
• Inspect storage rooms and work areas for upkeep and safety.
• Participate in facility surveys and develop plans of correction.
• Forecast maintenance needs within budget.
• Maintain confidentiality of protected health information.
• Attend department head meetings and staff training.
• Ensure safety programs and training are followed.
