Job summary

Worcester Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, a 146-bed skilled nursing facility, seeks a Maintenance Director to plan, organize, direct and manage the maintenance department to keep the facility safe and comfortable. The role offers hourly pay from $30 to $35 and weekly payroll, depending on experience.

The Maintenance Director will oversee preventive maintenance programs, safety compliance and vendor supervision, ensuring the facility meets all regulatory and safety standards while supporting

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent is required.
• Minimum of three years in a supervisory maintenance/plant role.
• Knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Ability to read blueprints and knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to supervise professional and non-professional staff.

Responsibilities

• Meet the maintenance needs of the facility.
• Identify hazards to residents or staff safety and act to maintain a safe environment.
• Replace, repair and purchase items per policy.
• Plan and implement preventive maintenance programs and document them.
• Maintain weather protection against cold, heat, fire and other hazards.
• Supervise outside contractors.
• Serve on-call for emergencies and off-duty hours.
• Perform errands and tasks as required.
• Maintain exterior and grounds upkeep in all weather conditions.
• Demonstrate and teach safe techniques in line with policy and training.
