Summary of position

Responsible for overall maintenance of the center and maintenance budget. Duties include preventative maintenance and repairs inside and outside the center, providing a safe, attractive, and orderly environment for residents, employees, and visitors. Conducts routine tests and inspections on systems such as emergency generators, sprinkler systems, door alarms, call light systems, hood/duct systems, and hot water systems. Responsible for fire drills and updating fire and disaster preparedness plans.

Requirements of the position

• High School diploma (or equivalent)
• At least 2 years of prior maintenance experience
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record (no more than three violations in past three years; no reckless driving or DUI/DWI in past seven years)
• Competence in electricity, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, carpentry, plastering, and painting
• Ability to plan, organize, prioritize
• Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English
• Computer skills with Microsoft products
• Ability to work on-call
