Job summary

The Wellington at Southport, a Sonida Senior Living community in Indianapolis, IN, is seeking a Maintenance Director to oversee grounds, interior spaces, and safety systems, ensuring apartments are prepared for move-in and that equipment operates reliably.

This role leads maintenance staff, maintains fire safety records, coordinates repairs across structural, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and security systems, and supports on-site operations to deliver quality resident care.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance preferred; familiarity with minor repairs for structural, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintains grounds, outside building repairs, and general upkeep of the facility.
• Maintains inside of building, offices, and common areas; ensures equipment is functioning and staff are trained.
• Prepares apartments for move-in and refurbishing; maintains fire safety and emergency records.

Maintenance Director Responsibilities include:

• Maintains grounds, including outside building repair, lawn maintenance and garbage removal.
• Maintains inside of building, offices, and common areas.
• Maintains and/or oversees repair of Community equipment; ensures that equipment is functioning properly, and staff are trained appropriately in its use.
• Prepares apartments for move-in and refurbishing of units after move-out.
• Maintains fire safety and emergency records, maintenance of systems and inspections required by state.

Qualifications:

• Experience in maintenance preferred; familiarity with techniques of minor repair and maintenance for structural, electrical, plumbing, security and heating and cooling systems required.
• Experience in building safety and hazard reduction preferred.
