We are looking for a a dependable, hands‑on Maintenance Director to oversee maintenance operations at our skilled nursing facility. You will lead the maintenance department, keep building systems operating reliably, and help maintain a safe and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
The ideal candidate combines strong repair and troubleshooting skills with the organization needed to manage preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and regulatory documentation.
Oversee daily maintenance of the building, grounds, equipment, and utility systems.
Perform and coordinate repairs involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, carpentry, and general upkeep.
Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules to reduce equipment failures and address issues early.
Conduct regular inspections, prioritize work orders, and follow through on repairs.
Oversee inspection, testing, and servicing of fire alarms, sprinkler systems, emergency generators, and other life safety equipment.
Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inspection reports, service records, and life safety documentation.
Prepare for and participate in regulatory surveys and inspections; address maintenance‑related findings.
Supervise and schedule maintenance staff and coordinate outside contractors and vendors.
Manage supplies, purchasing, and maintenance expenses within the department’s budget.
Coordinate work with nursing and other departments to minimize disruption to residents.
Support emergency preparedness, safety drills, and urgent maintenance response.
Previous experience in building maintenance or facility operations; skilled nursing or long‑term care experience strongly preferred.
Prior supervisory or maintenance management experience preferred.
Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, and general building repairs.
Familiarity with life safety requirements, preventive maintenance documentation, and healthcare facility inspections.
Strong troubleshooting, communication, organization, and leadership skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities and respond calmly to urgent issues.
High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical training or certifications preferred.
