Job summary

Grandview HealthCare Center is seeking an experienced Maintenance Director to oversee day-to-day maintenance of our skilled nursing facility. You will ensure a safe, compliant, and well-maintained environment for residents, staff, and visitors, while adhering to CT DPH and Life Safety Code requirements.

The role includes supervising maintenance staff, managing a preventive maintenance program, coordinating inspections, and maintaining logs for surveys and audits.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining healthcare facilities and nursing homes.
• Strong knowledge of Life Safety Code and healthcare regulations.
• Experience with boilers, HVAC, and generators.
• Ability to perform minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs.
• Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
• On-call availability for emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all building maintenance and repair functions.
• Maintain compliance with Life Safety Code, OSHA, CMS, and CT DPH regulations.
• Oversee the preventive maintenance program for facility, equipment, and grounds.
• Manage the work order system and ensure timely completion of requests.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, and documentation (fire alarm, sprinkler, generators, elevators, emergency lighting).
• Maintain emergency preparedness and disaster plans, including fire drills.
• Manage outside vendors and contractors.
• Monitor and maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Oversee snow removal, grounds maintenance, and facility appearance.
• Maintain logs and documentation for surveys and audits.
• Participate in state surveys and plans of correction as needed.
• Manage maintenance department staff and schedules.
• Monitor departmental budget and supplies.

The ideal candidate will ensure a safe, compliant, and well-maintained environment for our residents, staff, and visitors while maintaining compliance with all State of Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH), Life Safety Code, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
