Tuckerman Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Rockville, MD, is seeking a Director of Maintenance to lead all facility maintenance operations. This role ensures a safe, reliable environment that supports high-quality resident care and aligns with Marquis Health Consulting Services.

The position requires healthcare maintenance experience, strong leadership, and expertise across HVAC, boilers, electrical and plumbing systems, with a focus on compliance and timely project delivery.

Qualifications

• Healthcare facility maintenance experience required.
• Nursing home or healthcare facility background required.
• HVAC certification strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, and MEP systems.
• Ability to read blueprints and system documentation.
• Familiarity with building codes and safety regulations.
• Must hold relevant state licenses or certifications.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance operations to keep the facility safe, functional, and well-maintained.
• Manage preventive maintenance programs, repairs, and critical systems.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regs, and facility standards.
• Supervise maintenance staff, contractors, and vendors for timely work.
• Maintain boilers, compressors, generators, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Conduct routine facility inspections to ensure safety standards are met.
• Interpret blueprints and technical docs to support maintenance activities.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and compliance documentation.
• Respond promptly to emergencies to protect resident safety.

Responsibilities for Director of Maintenance

• Oversee all maintenance operations to ensure the facility is safe, functional, and well-maintained at all times.
• Manage preventative maintenance programs, equipment repairs, and facility systems to ensure uninterrupted operations.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable building codes, safety regulations, and facility standards.
• Supervise and coordinate maintenance staff, contractors, and vendors to ensure timely and high-quality completion of work.
• Maintain and monitor critical facility systems, including boilers, compressors, generators, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Conduct routine inspections of the facility to identify maintenance needs and ensure safety standards are consistently met.
• Interpret and utilize blueprints, technical manuals, and system documentation to support maintenance and repair activities.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and compliance documentation.
• Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies to ensure resident safety and continuity of care.

Qualifications for Director of Maintenance

• Experience in a healthcare facility maintenance role.
• Nursing home or healthcare facility experience required.
• HVAC certification strongly preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, and other mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and system schematics.
• Knowledge of applicable building codes, safety regulations, and compliance standards required.
• Must be licensed or certified in accordance with applicable state and regulatory requirements.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills.
