Job Description

Responsible for basic activities related to building and minor equipment maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance.

MAJOR TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Conduct responsibilities in accordance with the community's policies, procedures, laws, and professional standards.
2. Work cooperatively as part of a team across multiple locations.
3. Possess a valid driver's license and be eligible for company vehicle insurance.
4. Communicate effectively with the administrator/executive director and corporate director.
5. Maintain confidentiality of all employee information.
6. Perform routine maintenance and repairs to ensure building and equipment functionality.
7. Oversee renovations, remodeling, or replacements by contractors.
8. Maintain and repair equipment such as plumbing, heating, air conditioning, kitchen appliances, hot water heaters, washers/dryers, emergency generators, and other mechanical/electrical systems.
9. Handle carpentry, painting, furniture repair, concrete and masonry repairs, and internal property maintenance.
10. Assist in relocating, repairing, and refinishing furniture and equipment.
11. Conduct regular inspections and document findings.
12. Keep work areas clean and practice safe work techniques.
13. Maintain logs for systems like hot water temperature, generator checks, fire alarm testing, and sprinkler systems.
14. Participate in fire and emergency drills.
15. Coordinate repairs, procure necessary parts, and communicate repair progress and issues.
16. Ensure grounds are maintained and free of trash.
17. Assist with moving furniture and equipment as needed.
18. Be available for emergency repairs on a rotating basis.
19. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Ability to work under stress and during emergencies, including nights and weekends.
• Valid Virginia Driver's License and eligibility for company insurance.
• Ability to work at multiple locations.
• Responsible use and maintenance of tools and equipment.
