A skilled nursing facility in the Portland metro area is seeking an experienced Maintenance Director to oversee the day-to-day maintenance, safety, and physical operations of the facility.
The ideal candidate will be hands-on, organized, and knowledgeable about maintenance operations within a healthcare, skilled nursing, assisted living, or similar environment. This position plays an important role in ensuring our facility remains safe, well-maintained, and comfortable for our residents, staff, and visitors.
Oversee the overall maintenance and physical condition of the facility
Perform and coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs
Maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and other building systems
Respond promptly to maintenance and safety concerns
Conduct routine facility inspections and address identified issues
Coordinate outside vendors and contractors when necessary
Maintain required maintenance records, inspections, and documentation
Ensure compliance with applicable safety, fire, life-safety, and regulatory requirements
Manage maintenance supplies, equipment, and inventory
Work collaboratively with facility leadership and other departments
Assist with emergency preparedness and facility-related projects
Previous maintenance experience required
Maintenance leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, assisted living, healthcare, or a similar setting preferred
Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance
Knowledge of healthcare regulatory and life-safety requirements is a plus
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritize multiple projects and respond to urgent maintenance needs
Must be dependable, hands-on, and able to work independently
$38.00–$40.00 per hour, depending on experience.
