Sterling Healthcare Management, LLC is seeking an experienced Maintenance Director to lead the physical plant operations of our healthcare facility. You will keep the building safe, compliant, and well‑maintained, managing life safety, CMS requirements, and day‑to‑day repairs.

Responsibilities include overseeing HVAC, plumbing, electrical and fire protection; managing preventive maintenance; supervising staff and vendors; budgeting; and coordinating health‑department surveys and after‑hours

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience in healthcare or institutional settings.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and building systems.
• Familiarity with NFPA 101 Life Safety Code and CMS physical plant requirements.
• Experience with fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems and generator testing.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all facility maintenance including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire suppression systems.
• Manage preventive maintenance schedules and ensure testing/documentation is current.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, CMS, and OSHA standards.
• Maintain and test emergency generator per CMS requirements.
• Conduct and document fire drills, alarms, and Life Safety inspections.
• Supervise maintenance staff and outside contractors/vendors.
• Obtain bids, manage contracts, and control department budget.
• Maintain grounds including snow removal, landscaping, and exterior upkeep.
• Prepare for and participate in health department surveys related to the facility.
• Respond to maintenance emergencies, including after-hours as needed.
• Serve on Safety Committee and support emergency preparedness plan.

We are looking for an experienced, knowledgeable Maintenance Director to lead the physical plant operations of our facility. You will be responsible for keeping our building safe, compliant, and well-maintained — from Life Safety Code and CMS requirements to day-to-day repairs and grounds upkeep. What You'll Do

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience in a healthcare, long-term care, or institutional setting preferred
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems
• Familiarity with NFPA 101 Life Safety Code and CMS physical plant requirements
• Experience with fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, and emergency generator testing
• EPA 608 Certification preferred
• Valid driver's license required
• Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying environmental conditions
• Ability to respond to after-hours emergencies as needed
