Job summary

Laurelhurst/Laurelwoods, a Sonida Senior Living community in Columbus, NC, is seeking a Maintenance Director to oversee grounds, facilities, and safety for residents across independent living, memory care, and assisted living settings.

Responsibilities include maintaining both exterior and interior spaces, supervising equipment repair and staff training, preparing apartments for move-ins, and ensuring fire safety records and inspections meet state requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance and knowledge of minor repairs for building systems.
• Experience in building safety and hazard reduction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains grounds, outside building repair, lawn care and waste removal.
• Maintains interior of building, offices, and common areas.
• Oversees repair of community equipment; trains staff on its use.
• Prepares apartments for move-in and refurbishing after move-out.
• Maintains fire safety records and state-required inspections.

Maintenance Director Responsibilities Include

• Maintains grounds, including outside building repair, lawn maintenance and garbage removal.
• Maintains inside of building, offices, and common areas.
• Maintains and/or oversees repair of Community equipment; ensures that equipment is functioning properly, and staff are trained appropriately in its use.
• Prepares apartments for move-in and refurbishing of units after move-out.
• Maintains fire safety and emergency records, maintenance of systems and inspections required by state.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance preferred; familiarity with techniques of minor repair and maintenance for structural, electrical, plumbing, security and heating and cooling systems required.
• Experience in building safety and hazard reduction preferred.
