Job summary

Reflections Retirement Community is seeking a Maintenance Director to oversee two independent living communities in Chicago. You will supervise a maintenance team, manage safety programs, and ensure HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems are properly maintained.

The ideal candidate has HVAC/electrical experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and a passion for resident wellbeing. Full-time role with a focus on safety, reliability, and compassionate service.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED equivalently required.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Experience in HVAC systems and/or electrical required.
• Prior senior living experience desired.
• Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the readiness to mentor, motivate, and inspire.

Responsibilities

• Oversees 2 Independent Community safety program and maintains a secure resident home and working environment in compliance with policy and regulations.
• Maintains a preventative maintenance program to ensure proper functioning of all Community equipment, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
• Hires, trains, schedules, and leads the maintenance team in providing exceptional services.
• Mechanically repair, replace, and/or install minor equipment, hardware, and controls.
• Maintain water heaters, furnaces, air conditioners, kitchen equipment and associated equipment.
• Maintain community plumbing systems.
• Completes all maintenance requests, both scheduled and emergency, quickly and efficiently.
• Conducts inventory on chemical supplies and complies with proper storage and usage procedures.
• Implements safety protocols and procedures to avert incidents and ensure compliance with OSHA requirements.
• Performs exterior maintenance duties as necessary.
• Delivers fire and disaster education and performs preparation and drill activities with residents and team members.
• Engages with residents in a compassionate and impactful manner, cultivating a warm and supportive environment where the values of love, compassion, and dignity are reflected in every interaction.

Responsibilities

Exciting new role for an ambitious Maintenance Director to cover 2 Independent Living Communities - Churchview Manor Apartments and Lawn Terrace Apartments
