Services and cleans all transit system vehicles and buildings.
Profile
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Fuels, cleans, and checks lubricants daily on all vehicles as specified on the Daily Cleaning Checklist.
- Clean and wash buses and all company vehicles, servicing all vehicles daily according to the specifications on the Bus Cleaning Checklist form.
- Cleans the service areas and the bus parking area daily.
- Attends training and staff sessions as required.
- Performs general cleaning of grounds and building.
- Assists in changing out buses or vans on-line when mechanical failure occurs, and mechanics are not available.
- Maintains a professional image and conduct, including wearing a proper, well-maintained uniform while on duty.
- Always adheres to company rules and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be able to read, write, and perform basic math. Must understand, follow, and carry out written and/or verbal instructions.
- Must have a general knowledge of fuels and lubricants, vehicle and fuel safety procedures, and cleaning materials.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalency required. Must have a valid Driver’s License with a clean record for at least seven (7) years. Obtain Florida Class B Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger Endorsement and Airbrakes. Must pass physical examination including drug and alcohol screening, and background evaluation.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift or move up to fifty pounds. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, climb, kneel, or crawl. Must be able to perform repetitive tasks.
- Exposed to caustic chemicals and high noise levels.
- Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally.
- Must have clear vision at all distances, with or without corrective lenses, and the ability to judge distances and space relationships.
- Physical activities include lifting, pushing, pulling, kneeling, stooping, and reaching to clean, refuel, and check vehicles.
- Ability to hear engine noises and detect issues.
Other:
- Willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Available during emergencies as declared by the local Emergency Operation Center.
Work Environment:
Outdoor work includes exposure to dampness, dirt, noise, temperature extremes, vehicle fumes, chemicals, vibrations, difficult customers, traffic, and weather conditions.
Schedule:
Monday, Thursday, Friday 3:00 pm to 10:30 pm and Saturday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
