Job summary

Valley View Village in Des Moines, IA, a Cassia community, is seeking a Maintenance Worker/Custodian to keep our spaces clean, safe and welcoming for residents, families and staff. You will perform custodial and light maintenance duties, including cleaning common areas and bathrooms, disposing of trash, restocking supplies, and keeping floors tidy.

As a Maintenance Worker/Custodian at Valley View Village, you’ll perform a variety of custodial and light maintenance duties, including cleaning common areas and bathrooms, disposing of trash, restocking supplies, sweeping and mopping floors, and completing minor maintenance tasks throughout the community. The ideal candidate has strong customer service skills, is mechanically inclined, and enjoys staying active throughout the workday. Position Type: Part-Time

Shift: Day: 7:00 am to 3:30 pm (Saturday & Sunday and possibly 1 day during the week)

Location: 2571 Guthrie Ave, Des Moines, IA 50317

Custodian Responsibilities

• Dispose of trash from common areas.
• Clean bathrooms.
• Restock supplies.
• Sweep and mop floors.
• Perform light maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, moving furniture, etc.
• Perform manual tasks and carry out all given job related instructions.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Custodian Qualifications
