Job summary

Newton Village, a Cassia community, is hiring a Maintenance Worker to join our team. Newton Village is an award-winning senior care community where your skills are valued and your dedication to excellent care makes an impact.

In this full-time role, you will perform housekeeping and basic repairs, respond to resident and staff maintenance requests, and help keep common areas safe and welcoming. Strong communication and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in plumbing, electrical work, HVAC or floor care.
• Healthcare setting experience preferred but not required.
• Must be available to work on-call as needed.
• Able to perform repairs inside and outside of building, basic carpentry and plumbing, replace light bulbs and filters.

Responsibilities

• Provides carpet and floor care in residents rooms and common areas.
• Disposes of trash from common areas and resident rooms.
• Additional duties may include cleaning windows, moving and arranging furniture.
• Perform routine maintenance repairs and projects as needed.
• Follow scheduled maintenance program.
• Respond to maintenance requests by residents and staff.
• Follow-through on projects with little supervision.
• Perform manual tasks and carry out all given job-related instructions.
• Keep detailed reports of ongoing and completed projects.
• Perform other duties as requested.

In this role, you'll be responsible for keeping our lovely facility in great shape and contributing positively to our residents' lives. We're seeking someone with a friendly, upbeat personality as our ideal candidate.

Position Type:Full-Time, benefits eligible position working a varying schedule

Location:110 N 5th Ave W, Newton, IA 50208

Maintenance Responsibilities:

• Provides carpet and floor care in residents rooms and common areas.
• Disposes of trash from common areas and resident rooms.

Maintenance Qualifications:

• Able to make repairs inside and outside of building, basic carpentry, basic plumbing, replace light bulbs, filters, etc.
• Able to use basic maintenance tools such as hammer, pliers, screwdriver, drill, etc.
• Must have strong communication and organizational skills.
