Job summary

Meadowview of Johnston is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join our Cassia community in Johnston, IA. This part-time role includes weekend shifts and hands-on campus maintenance to ensure safe, comfortable living for residents.

The ideal candidate brings basic repair skills, good communication, and reliability. No prior senior care experience is required, and training will be provided to support operations across the campus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Prior maintenance experience preferred.
• Prior experience in a healthcare setting preferred, but not required.
• Able to make repairs inside and outside of building, basic carpentry, basic plumbing, replace light bulbs, filters, etc.
• Able to use basic maintenance tools such as hammer, pliers, screwdriver, drill, etc.
• Must have strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify maintenance issues and perform hands-on repairs.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks around the campus.
• Follow scheduled maintenance program.
• Respond to maintenance requests by residents and staff.
• Maintain detailed reports of ongoing and completed projects.
• Paint walls and touch-ups as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Meadowview of Johnston, a Cassia community, is looking for a Maintenance Assistant to join our team in Johnston, IA! No prior senior care experience necessary! Come and join our supportive, energetic and passionate team, where your skills will help make an impact on our community.

As a Maintenance Assistant at Meadowview of Johnston, you will be on-the-move to identify maintenance issues and work hands on to correct them. You will also perform routine maintenance repairs at the campus. You will have the opportunity to bond with our residents and make a difference in their lives. Our ideal candidate is a resourceful leader with excellent problem solving, customer service and time management skills.

Position Type: Part-Time working a varied schedule including weekends

Location: 5555 Pioneer Parkway, Johnston, IA 50131

Maintenance Assistant Responsibilities:

• Additional duties may include cleaning windows, moving and arranging furniture.
• Perform routine maintenance repairs and projects as needed.
• Follow scheduled maintenance program.
• Respond to maintenance requests by residents and staff.
• Follow-through on projects with little supervision.
• Perform manual tasks and carry out all given job related instructions.
• Keep detailed reports of ongoing and completed projects.
• Painting walls, paint retouches, and other related tasks .
• Perform other duties as requested.

Maintenance Assistant Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Prior maintenance experience preferred.
