Job summary

Vivmark Residential is seeking a dedicated Porter/Custodian in Mountain View, CA to maintain interior and exterior conditions per safety standards. This role blends maintenance and custodial work to ensure pristine living environments and a positive resident experience.

The position involves cleaning high-traffic areas, assisting residents with move-ins/outs, basic repairs, and landscaping tasks, with a focus on great service and teamwork. Competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• 0–1 year custodial/maintenance experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to communicate with team members and residents for customer service.
• Ability to read and understand policies and procedures (Key Control, Apartment Turnover, Maintenance Emergency, etc.).
• Ability to identify cleaning and chemical supplies, read SDS, and understand proper chemical applications.
• Knowledge of PPE and its proper use.
• Basic understanding of emergency systems, shutoffs, locations and operations.
• Knowledge of paint types and paint tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning and maintenance tasks to maintain appearance of common areas and amenities.
• Clean and sanitize high-traffic areas including lobbies, hallways, elevators, and recreational spaces.
• Maintain cleanliness of outdoor spaces such as sidewalks, parking lots, and landscaping.
• Ensure trash and recycling areas are regularly emptied and tidy.
• Conduct routine inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
• Address minor maintenance tasks like light bulb replacement and paint touch-ups.
• Assist residents with moving in and out of apartments.
• Provide friendly, responsive customer service to residents.
• Collaborate with team to ensure a positive resident experience.
• Maintain outdoor landscaping including mowing, trimming, planting flowers.
• Keep outdoor areas clear of debris and litter.
• Complete work orders.
