Job summary

Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority seeks a Service Person IV for scattered sites to perform maintenance, repair and construction on CMHA buildings, facilities, and equipment under general supervision.

There are no supervisory duties, but the role may lead lower classified workers when designated. An Ohio driver’s license and BHMC are preferred; CDL may be required depending on assignment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational coursework preferred.
• Two to three years of progressively responsible maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic and major maintenance, repair, construction, and alterations of CMHA buildings, facilities, and equipment in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, drywall, plastering, masonry, and roofing.
• Assists in diagnosing mechanical and structural problems; reads blueprints; operates power tools and equipment.
• Performs preventative maintenance to CMHA facilities.
• Requisitions necessary supplies and materials to complete tasks based on service requests.
• May diagnose and repair malfunctions on CMHA-owned appliances.
• Maintains records of work orders and work performed; reports activities as required.

Education

Two to three years of maintenance experience
