Job summary

Unilever in Chicago, IL is seeking a Maintenance Specialist to coordinate the maintenance team on the designated shift and ensure timely completion of tasks, escalating gaps to lead and manager as needed.

You will develop preventive maintenance plans, work with the Production Supervisor to meet performance targets, and ensure audits are conducted for quality and safety. This role requires strong troubleshooting and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Two or more years as maintenance supervisor/coordinator in fast-paced manufacturing
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience leading a team of maintenance technicians
• Able to work independently and in a team
• Experience making reliability/maintenance decisions to meet needs
• Proven track record of implementing improvement ideas

Responsibilities

• Coordinate maintenance technicians on the assigned shift
• Troubleshoot, procure parts, and escalate issues as needed
• Create preventative maintenance schedules based on equipment criticality
• Collaborate with Production Supervisors to meet performance and OEE targets
• Ensure maintenance, quality and safety audits are conducted
• Work with maintenance lead to identify root causes and countermeasures
• Review and plan long-term maintenance with managers and operations
• Collaborate with Supervisors and Operations to document activities for machine enhancements
• Engage vendors for support and project deployment
• Participate in safety and quality reviews and implement corrective actions
