Position Overview

The Maintenance Controller is responsible for monitoring all maintenance activities outside of Heavy Maintenance at CommuteAir, ensuring the safe and timely resolution of aircraft discrepancies. They provide technical support and oversight for line maintenance operations, coordinating repairs with frontline teams and vendor maintenance providers. This role acts as a critical liaison between Maintenance, Flight Operations, and Dispatch to minimize delays and ensure regulatory compliance. Maintenance Controllers troubleshoot issues, manage deferred maintenance items, and authorize corrective actions to maintain operational integrity.

Essential Functions
  1. Supervise maintenance work processes, coordinating between all departments and outside contract agencies.
  2. Input and update required data into the company computer system.
  3. Monitor all open MEL/CDL deferred items on a continuous basis.
  4. Prioritize and maintain efforts to clear MEL/CDL’s according to deferral guidelines.
  5. Monitor the maintenance status of all in-service aircraft and coordinate maintenance activities in case of discrepancies.
  6. Initiate and expedite the movement of parts and personnel to recover out-of-service aircraft.
  7. Coordinate aircraft routing to meet operational positioning requirements with Technical Operations Planner and Operations.
  8. Set priorities for Line Maintenance personnel and coordinate their activities.
  9. Complete required paperwork and forms in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  10. Notify inspection personnel when an RII is identified.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.
  12. Must hold a current Airframe and Powerplant certificate and be able to obtain necessary authorizations for RII Inspection and Airworthiness Release.
  13. 1-2 years of line maintenance experience preferred.
  14. High School diploma or equivalent.
  15. Legally authorized to work in the US.
  16. Hold a valid driver’s license and passport.
  17. Intermediate computer skills in MS Office and ability to learn company maintenance software.
  18. Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  19. Able to multitask in a stressful, deadline-driven environment.
  20. Previous line maintenance and/or supervisory experience preferred.
