Position: Maintenance Controller

Reports to: Director of Maintenance

The Maintenance Controller will coordinate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on the TransMedics Aviation fleet at base and remote locations to ensure timely return to service. The role involves coordinating with the internal Aviation team and outside vendors to maintain flight safety, compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies, and to minimize operational interruptions.

Essential Functions

• Coordinate and manage maintenance issues, including AOGs, mechanical interruptions, in-flight emergencies, and scheduled/unscheduled maintenance with pilots, charter team, and management.
• Order and manage parts required for maintenance, coordinate with the parts team for core returns.
• Evaluate aircraft discrepancies and develop repair or recovery plans.
• Communicate estimated return-to-service times for AOG aircraft.
• Monitor aircraft hours and cycles to schedule inspections and manage deferred items.
• Evaluate schedules for service checks and cleaning opportunities.
• Maintain aircraft due list and discrepancies in the web-based flight schedule.
• Coordinate aircraft ferry flights to maintenance providers.
• Maintain digital pass down/turnover records and audit all RTS paperwork, ensuring proper filing and mailing of original documents.
• Ensure maintenance activities comply with FAA regulations and OEM data, providing data or references to vendors as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Background and Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in Business Jet Aviation Maintenance or Military Aviation Maintenance.
• Previous Part 135 experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, early mornings, evenings, or nights.
• Effective collaboration and communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, manuals, and instructions.
• Attention to detail and ability to handle chemicals and loud noises; ability to lift 50 pounds.
