The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) is seeking a Highway Technician, Maintenance Contract Inspector to handle cross-specialty duties across mowing, herbicide, and guardrail contracts. Includes snow and ice removal and heavy equipment operation at the Rensselaer Unit.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or obtain one with the first 90 days of employment.
• Able to pass drug test as a condition of employment.
• General knowledge of highway guidelines and regulations for inspection, maintenance, and repair.

Responsibilities

• Operate highway maintenance and traffic equipment to maintain and repair highways.
• Perform winter operations including snow and ice removal.
• Conduct routine inspections and equipment maintenance.
• Document work in the Work Management System (WMS).
• Coordinate materials and equipment with the Supervisor.
