Job summary

State of North Carolina, Dept of Agriculture and Consumer Services, is seeking a Maintenance/Construction Technician III to maintain and repair specialized grading equipment used statewide. You will work hands-on with fabrications and samplers, sometimes at heights up to 50 feet, and report on operations using MS Office.

Qualifications

Join a team that keeps North Carolina’s agricultural industry moving! In partnership with the USDA and NCDA, the Cooperative Grading Service ensures fair, reliable grading for fruits, vegetables, and peanuts statewide.

As a Maintenance/Construction Technician III, you'll take on advanced maintenance and repair of specialized grading equipment, including Farmer Stock (FS) peanut machinery. You'll work hands-on with fabrication, welding, and equipment such as Pneumatic and Automatic Samplers using articulating lifts - sometimes at heights up to 50 feet. This role also requires strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office software, and the ability to generate letters and reports to support daily operations.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Recruitment Range: $41,206 - $60,000

Any employment offer may be less than the maximum of the range due to salary equity with similarly situated employees or the selected candidate’s related education and experience.

• Skill in the use of tools required in various technically complex trades.
