Job summary

State of North Carolina, Dept of Agriculture and Consumer Services, is seeking a Maintenance/Construction Technician III to maintain and repair specialized grading equipment used statewide. You will work hands-on with fabrications and samplers, sometimes at heights up to 50 feet, and report on operations using MS Office.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED with two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination. EPA certification may be required depending on the role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus two years of progressive experience in the assigned trade areas; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• EPA certification may be required as Type I, II, III or Universal technician.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair grading equipment, including Farmer Stock peanut machinery.
• Perform fabrication, welding, and operate pneumatic and automatic samplers up to heights of 50 feet.
• Generate letters and reports to support daily operations using Microsoft Office.
• Guide, plan, delegate, and lead others in daily tasks.
