State of North Carolina - Agriculture & Consumer Services seeks an Aircraft Mechanic (S) for the NC Forest Service Aviation Division, based at Duplin Hangar, Kenansville. Responsibilities include inspecting, maintaining, and repairing fixed and rotary aircraft to support wildfire suppression and environmental operations.

Required FAA Airframe & Powerplant license, plus experience or an equivalent combination of training. CDL requirements and pre-employment drug testing may apply.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an FAA approved aviation maintenance technician school and one year of experience in aircraft inspection, maintenance and repair; or High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and three years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair aircraft as part of the NC Forest Service Aviation Division.
  • Perform inspections, troubleshooting, and sign off on maintenance logs in accordance with FARs.
  • Support wildfire suppression and airworthiness requirements as part of the flight crew.
