The North Carolina Department of Administration (NCDOA) is seeking applicants for a Maintenance/Construction Tech III for our Facility Management division located in Raleigh, NC. The primary mission of Facility Management is to provide a safe and healthy work environment for employees and the public in a cost effective and energy efficient manner. This mission is accomplished by performing routine, preventive, and emergency maintenance to state facilities owned by and allocated to the Department of Administration.

MAX SALARY FOR THIS POSITION: $51,008 Recruitment Range: $35,596-$51,008
Considerable knowledge of frame and finish carpentry tools and techniques and cabinetmaking tools and techniques.
Ability to read and visualize architectural plans, drawings, and specifications.
Considerable knowledge of a variety of building materials and finishes, and their characteristics and uses.
Ability to measure and perform mathematical calculations necessary in estimating materials, the construction and renovation of buildings, and building office furnishings.
Skill in the use of tools and equipment used in frame and finish carpentry, building office furnishings, roofing, and painting.
The position may require hazardous material removal. This includes identifying, removal, packaging, transporting and disposing of all hazardous materials generated by the other trade shops including asbestos.
Physical ability to carry, hold, and install building materials in the construction and renovation of buildings.
Ability to identify and problem solve project issues.
Ability to communicate with other employees, supervisors and management. undefined
The individual hired for this position must be familiar with building life and safety codes.
The work requires standing for long periods of time and performing manual labor, which involves possessing physical strength to handle and lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
The Individual should be capable of crawling, working at heights up to sixty-five feet or more.
Some areas may require the use of a respirator and other personal protective equipment.
Medical certification is required to verify the individuals' ability to wear and use a respirator. This is a condition of employment.
The employee is required wear a uniform, picture ID badge, use safety equipment and follow safety regulations which are provided by the state.
Candidate must present proof of a valid NC Driver's License and proof of an acceptable driving record.
Employee must complete Asbestos Operation Maintenance and Removal Training.
