Join to apply for the Maintenance/Construction Technician I role at State of North Carolina

This position functions as Maintenance/Construction Technician I for the Museum of the Albemarle, which includes the building's interior, exterior, and grounds. The technician will perform duties such as cleaning, minor repairs, landscaping, and assisting with building operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the interior and exterior of a 75,000 sq. ft. facility.
  • Perform cleaning, landscaping, minor repairs, and setup for events.
  • Assist with troubleshooting HVAC, water pumps, elevators, and security systems.
Position/Physical Requirements
  • Work Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., with some nights and weekends.
  • Lift 50 lbs., stand for long periods, work at heights, and in various weather conditions.
  • Possess a valid U.S. driver’s license or obtain one within 90 days.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with basic computer skills, minor building repairs, and equipment maintenance.
  • Preferred certifications include operating a 20’ scissor lift and forklift.
