This position is located at:

501 S. Water Street, Elizabeth City, North Carolina 27909

Primary Purpose of Position:

This position functions as Maintenance/Construction Technician I for the Museum of the Albemarle, responsible for the building's interior, exterior, and grounds. Duties include cleaning, maintenance, minor repairs, equipment operation, and supporting event setups.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Maintaining the interior and exterior of a 75,000 sq. ft. facility.
• Performing cleaning, landscaping, repairs, and equipment maintenance.
• Setting up and takedown for events and programs.
• Assisting with troubleshooting building systems.

Position/Physical Requirements:

• Work schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., with some nights and weekends.
• Lift 50 lbs., stand for long periods, work at heights, in various weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license required within 90 days of employment.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED, with experience in maintenance, repairs, landscaping, and equipment operation. Certifications in operating lifts and forklifts are preferred.

Education and Experience Equivalency:

Equivalent combination of education and experience may qualify. See oshr.nc.gov/experience-guide.
