Job Description

Job Summary:

Are you customer-focused, passionate about people, and enjoy a fun work environment? Our Maintenance Technician handles maintenance service requests within the community. The role requires teamwork, pride in work, and may include make-readies, groundskeeping, pool maintenance, and preventative maintenance. Camden Maintenance Technicians excel in customer service, understanding and anticipating residents' needs to deliver exceptional experiences.

Essential Functions:

• Respond promptly to and complete service requests
• Coordinate with supervisors and team members to prioritize tasks
• Provide excellent customer service to residents, guests, and vendors
• Identify safety hazards or maintenance issues and address or report them
• Perform preventative maintenance on community equipment
• Prepare vacant apartments for new residents, including repairs or replacements
• Maintain community appearance by replacing bulbs, trash removal, painting, and repairs
• Accurately document service requests, maintenance, and make-readies in Onesite
• Perform electrical and plumbing repairs as needed
• Assist with groundskeeping, pool maintenance, housekeeping, notices, inspections, and other tasks

Qualifications:

• Minimum six months of maintenance experience, preferably in apartments
• High School Diploma preferred; trade school certification highly valued
• EPA Type I, II, or Universal certification preferred
• Technical skills related to apartment maintenance
• Experience with tile work, carpentry, and make-ready processes
• Troubleshooting and repairing HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license, ability to handle a rotating on-call schedule
• Availability to work weekends and holidays as required

• Exposure to active environments requiring standing, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), climbing, and walking on rooftops
• Manual dexterity for operating small equipment
• Normal hearing, vision, color discrimination, and depth perception
• Ability to wear safety gear and read instructions in English
• Ability to follow standard procedures and carry out instructions
• Excellent interpersonal skills for public contact
• Exposure to outdoor elements and potential hazards, mitigated by safety practices
