Job summary

Tom Trese seeks a Maintenance Chief Engineer for a commercial laundry operation in the Southgate, MI area. You will lead the maintenance department, directing a team responsible for daily repairs, PMs, and equipment optimization to keep production running smoothly.

You will supervise safety, implement preventive programs, and coordinate with senior management on capital needs. Candidates should have 3+ years in maintenance management and a strong background in electrical systems and PLCs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years maintenance management experience with knowledge of machinery, electricity, electronics, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, welder and boiler applications.
• Commercial laundry experience is required.
• Must have PM mindset and experience managing a PM program in this industry or similar.
• Previous supervisory/management experience is required; able to lead and train a maintenance team.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting ability of 3-phase 230V systems.
• PLC programming experience.
• Experience in carpentry, boiler repair, welding, and general facility repairs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper maintenance, preventive maintenance (PMs), repairs, and installations on all plant equipment.
• Supervise, direct, coordinate and assign daily work schedules to ensure accountability for the team.
• Develop and implement computerized methods, control systems and procedures for a fully operational preventive maintenance program, parts stockroom and inventory system.
• Monitor and ensure efficient use of utilities, and practice energy conservation through usage reduction and cost control.
• Recommend and communicate to senior management on capital expenditures, equipment, parts, supplies, and materials.
