Village of Schaumburg is seeking a Maintenance Assistant for the Water Division in Engineering & Public Works. The role supports repairs and maintenance of more than 400 miles of water main, 5,000 valves, and 5,000 hydrants, including water main breaks, valve and hydrant work, and meter repairs.
This part-time position performs unskilled manual tasks, may handle semi-skilled mechanical work, custodial tasks, and operates a vehicle.

Maintenance Assistant - Water Division (Engineering & Public Works) part-time
The water division maintains, rehabs, and repairs over 400 total miles of water main, 5,000 valves, and 5,000 hydrants. This position provides support in making these repairs including but not limited to water main breaks, valve repairs/replacements, hydrant repairs/replacements, b-box repairs, manhole adjustments, water meter repairs/replacements, and other duties as assigned.

This position usually performs manual work of an unskilled nature. Work consists of assisting staff in the maintenance and repair of village infrastructure, buildings, grounds, and facilities. This position may also perform semi-skilled mechanical labor, custodial work, and operating a vehicle.
$28.81 - $32.05 per hour working up to 19 hours per week. Salary dependent on qualifications. The salary range for this position is $28.81 - $41.78 .
