Job summary

Metropolitan Family Services is seeking a part-time Maintenance Assistant for the Learning & Wellness Center Team in Chicago to support facility upkeep and daily operations. The role includes light maintenance duties, housekeeping, and assisting with seasonal preparations.

The position offers a part-time schedule with a focus on hands-on tasks and teamwork within an organization that serves the community and families across Illinois.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience required or HS/GED with demonstrated aptitude to develop basic maintenance skills.
• Demonstrated aptitude to learn basic maintenance skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups.
• Ability to organize.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the maintenance of property and facilities.
• Carries out specific tasks regarding maintenance to buildings.
• Assists in preparation of site buildings for the changing uses in summer, fall, winter, and spring.
• Carries out specific duties related to the center, including housekeeping, and distribution of supplies, and other tasks.
• Reports all needs for maintenance repair to Site Supervisor.
• Assists with specific tasks such as cleaning the outside of the property and other light duties such as washing windows and doors, shoveling, and spreading salt during winter.
