Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to assist General Maintenance Repairmen with various tasks. Responsibilities include delivering tools, cleaning job sites, and providing support for maintenance projects. You will work Monday through Friday, 10:30am to 7:00pm, typically in an office environment.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED, and skills in communication, facility management, and safety. Comprehensive healthcare benefits are available from day one.

Responsibilities

• Assist repairmen by delivering tools and materials to job sites.
• Clean up job sites and return tools to storage.
• Assist with removing built-in fixtures and tearing down walls.
• Collect and sort recycling and shredding.
• Assist with painting projects.
• Provide limited electrical services such as changing light bulbs.
• Provide limited HVAC services such as changing filters.
• Maintain accurate daily records of time and materials.

Job Duties

• Assists repairmen by delivering tools and materials to the job site.
• Cleaning up job sites and returning tools and materials to the proper storage areas.
• Assists with removing built‑in fixtures and tearing down walls.
• Collects and sorts recycling and shredding.
• Assists with painting projects.
• Provides limited electrical services such as changing light bulbs.
• Provides limited HVCA services such as changing filters.
• Maintains accurate daily records of time and materials.
• Maintains all tools and equipment in a safe and operable condition.
• Reports problems to the supervisor.
• Assists other trade areas for seasonal requirements as needed.
• Provides assistance with Security as needed.
• Sweeps sidewalks to main entrance as needed.
• Work is typically performed in an office environment.

Work Hours and Schedule

Location: Geisinger School of Nursing. Shift: Days (10:30am-7:00pm, Monday - Friday). Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40. Worker Type: Regular. Exemption Status: No.
