Job Summary

Provides general carpentry and painting to maintain, repair, and renovate the physical structure. Provides basic HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing services to efficiently operate facilities and equipment. Tests, monitors, and operates equipment/chemicals for water supply. Removes snow using various types of equipment. Provides assistance to maintain grounds, as required.

Job Duties
  • Performs general carpentry in support of alterations and renovations.
  • Performs masonry tasks when necessary.
  • Installs drywall, floor, and ceiling systems.
  • Prepares all surfaces with joint compound, caulking, and sanding.
  • Removes hardware and other items.
  • Places masking tape and drop cloths to protect surfaces.
  • Sets up scaffold and ladders for safe usage.
  • Applies paints, stains, and varnishes to various surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray guns.
  • Returns finished area to working order.
  • Uses and maintains equipment for snow removal, including truck‑mounted snow plow, tractor‑mounted snow plow, snow throwers, shovels, and brooms.
  • Checks fluid levels.
  • Performs minor equipment repairs when necessary.
  • Performs preventive maintenance and equipment checks, including fire extinguishers, air filter cleaning and changes, belt changes, and lubrication of rotating equipment.
  • Repairs a variety of mechanical, plumbing, electrical equipment, and general building components.
  • Installs, maintains, and repairs plumbing fixtures, domestic water piping and equipment, steam piping and distribution equipment including valves and radiators.
  • Installs, maintains, and repairs sanitary drains, sewers, holding tanks, and sewage pumps.
  • Installs, maintains, and repairs electrical conduits, raceways, wires and cables, and circuit breakers for the supply of electrical power.
  • Runs computer and other non‑protected cables.
  • Replaces light bulbs and lamps as required.
  • Work is typically performed in a warehouse/maintenance or office environment; may require performance within clinical areas.
  • Requires the ability to lift up to 50lbs. Frequently required to reach above head, bend, push, pull, stoop, and kneel.
  • Accountable for satisfying all job‑specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.
