Geisinger Lewistown Hospital is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic I to perform carpentry, masonry, plumbing and electrical tasks across alterations, renovations and building systems. You will operate snow-removal equipment and maintain facilities to ensure safe, reliable patient care environments.

Performs general carpentry in support of alterations and renovations.
Performs masonry tasks when necessary.
Installs dry wall, floor and ceiling systems.
Prepares all surfaces with joint compound, caulking and sanding.
Removes hardware and other items.
Places masking tape and drop cloths to protect surfaces.
Sets up scaffold and ladders for safe usage.
Applies paints, stains and varnishes to various surfaces using brushes, rollers and spray guns.
Returns finished area to working order.
Uses and maintains equipment for snow removal.
Equipment may include truck-mounted snow plow, tractor-mounted snow plow, snow throwers, shovels, brooms, etc.
Checks fluid levels.
Performs minor equipment repairs when necessary.
Performs preventive maintenance and equipment checks, including: fire extinguishers, air filter cleaning and changes, belt
changes and lubrication of rotating equipment.
Repairs a variety of mechanical, plumbing, electrical equipment and general building components.
Installs, maintains and repairs plumbing fixtures, domestic water piping and equipment, and steam piping and distribution
equipment including valves and radiators Installs, maintains and repairs sanitary drains, sewers, holding tanks and sewage
pumps.
Installs, maintains and repairs electrical conduits, raceways, wires and cables and circuit breakers for the supply of electrical
power.
Runs computer and other non-protected cables.
Replaces light bulbs and lamps as required.
Repairs a variety of mechanical, plumbing, electrical equipment and general building components.
Work is typically performed in a warehouse/maintenance or office environment; may require performance of work within clinical areas. Requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Frequently required to reach above head, bend, push, pull, stoop and kneel. Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.
