Qualifications

• Experience with plumbing, electrical basic repairs and routine maintenance.
• Strong computer skills for emails, spreadsheets and maintenance software.
• Ability to safely access attics and climb ladders, and work in tight spaces.
• Personable, caring approach toward residents and staff.
• Ability to take initiative and follow through on tasks.
• Strong record-keeping and reliability, with good organizational skills.
• Willingness to grow knowledge of building systems and maintenance operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repairs at New Castle Nursing & Rehab and Twin Oaks Assisted Living.
• Assist with plumbing repairs, painting, carpentry, and routine building upkeep.
• Troubleshoot basic electrical/equipment repairs including bed systems.
• Notify Maintenance Director for specialized needs and document work orders.
• Use electronic system to track work orders and maintenance records.
• Help organize records, reports, and schedules for inspections.
• Support survey readiness through routine checks and corrective work.
• Prepare resident rooms and common areas; communicate progress clearly.
• Follow safety and infection control procedures and maintain tidy work spaces.
• Interact with residents and staff with patience and care while minimizing disruption.
