Job summary

Lakeside Book Company in Willard, Ohio is seeking a reliable Maintenance Assistant to join our Buildings and Grounds team. You’ll perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs to keep offices, production areas, and equipment running smoothly.

Rotating 6-week shifts (7:00–15:00, 15:00–23:00, 23:00–07:00) with starting pay of $21.25/hr plus $2.00/hr shift differential. Benefits include Medical, Dental/Vision, 401K match, and paid vacation from day one.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to lift and carry 20-50 pounds.
• Proven experience in maintenance or a related field.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems preferred.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks for buildings, grounds, and equipment.
• Conduct inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety hazards.
• Repair plumbing fixtures, electrical systems, and HVAC units as needed.
• Paint, patch, and maintain walls, ceilings, and floors.
• Maintain outdoor areas, including landscaping and snow removal.
• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
• Assist with special projects as needed.
