Job summary

Meridian Senior Living is hiring a Maintenance Assistant in Bay Shore, NY. You will assist the Maintenance Director to keep the community safe, attractive, and well maintained within budget. A compassionate approach to residents and strong communication are essential.

Full-time position with responsibilities including painting, cleaning, room turns and general maintenance tasks. Valid driver's license is required; health checks and background clearances apply.

Qualifications

• Compassion for elderly and desire to work in senior living.
• Must have basic reporting and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, vendors, and public.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Maintenance experience in painting, cleaning, room turns, and related tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist Maintenance Director to keep community safe, attractive, and well maintained.
• Ensure operations stay within the community maintenance budget.
• Communicate maintenance needs and status to residents and staff.
• Support on-call and hands-on maintenance duties as assigned.

Details about the Maintenance Assistant position we are hiring for:

As the Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible in assisting the Maintenance Director in ensuring that the Community is safe for residents and staff, attractive and well maintained, and operating within the Community maintenance budget.

Qualifications: Requirements:

• Relevant work experience (1+ years preferred)
• Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly
• Must have basic reporting and organizational skills
• Must be capable of maintaining fulltime attendance
• Must be able to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, vendors and the general public
• Must have valid driver license
• Must have maintenance experience in painting, cleaning, room turns, and other maintenance duties.
• Must meet all health requirements and pass background checks
• Tuesday-Saturday 11am-7pm
• Clean License and ability to dive a 12 passenger handicap vehicle.
