Job summary

EASTERN HEALTH GROUP is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to perform maintenance and construction tasks around the facility, including grounds, parking lots and equipment. You will also handle cleaning, paint and inspect equipment to ensure proper functioning.

Responsibilities include servicing plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems, performing carpentry, painting and routine safety checks, with independent decision-making and adherence to written and oral instructions.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to make decisions independently.
• Ability to understand and follow both written and oral instructions.
• Education level: Entry Level (0-2 years).
• Experience: High School Diploma/GED.

Responsibilities

• Work on maintenance tasks around the facility including grounds, parking lots and equipment.
• Perform cleaning tasks as needed in all areas and assist with painting, plastering and inspections.
• Inspect all equipment and systems regularly to ensure proper functioning and safety.
• Advise Maintenance Director of any repair needs concerning structure, equipment and grounds.
• Manage plumbing, electrical, mechanical, oxygen, and communication systems as required.
• Perform carpentry duties as needed.
• Change screens and storm windows as part of upkeep.

Job Description

The Maintenance Assistant performs maintenance and construction work around the facility. They maintain the grounds, parking lots and equipment. They perform cleaning tasks as needed in all areas, as well as paint, plaster and inspect equipment to make sure it is properly functioning.

Responsibilities of the Maintenance Assistant

• Work on the cooling, plumbing, gas, electrical, mechanical, oxygen and communication systems.
• Perform carpentry duties as needed.
• Paint, plaster and refinish items as needed.
• Perform heavy duty cleaning.
• Change screens and storm windows.
• Inspect all equipment and systems regularly to ensure proper functioning and safety.
• Advise Maintenance Director of any repair needs concerning structure, equipement and grounds.
