Job summary

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED is required.
• 1–2 years of relevant maintenance experience.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions.
• Maintenance tasks include plumbing, electrical, painting and equipment inspection.

Responsibilities

• Work on the cooling, plumbing, gas, electrical, mechanical, oxygen and communication systems.
• Perform carpentry duties as needed.
• Paint, plaster and refinish items as needed.
• Perform heavy duty cleaning.
• Change screens and storm windows.
• Inspect all equipment and systems regularly to ensure proper functioning and safety.
• Advise Maintenance Director of any repair needs concerning structure, equipment and grounds.

Job Description

The Maintenance Assistant performs maintenance and construction work around the facility. He or she will maintain the grounds, parking lots and equipment; perform cleaning tasks as needed in all areas, as well as paint, plaster and inspect equipment to make sure it is properly functioning.
