Job summary

Sapphire Rehabilitation of Northtowns is seeking a full‑time Maintenance Assistant to help keep our facility safe and well‑maintained. You will repair building systems and furnishings, perform preventative tasks, and support staff and residents in daily operations.

Ideal candidates have basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry; a HS diploma; a valid driver’s license; and the ability to work every other weekend.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent; related work experience required.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and construction systems.
• Ability to use common repair tools.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures.
• Manage heating and plumbing systems to guarantee functionality.
• Plan and schedule repairs.
• Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is up to standard and code.
• Perform general maintenance tasks including painting, and carpentry.

• Ice and snow removal.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Sapphire Rehabilitation of Northtowns is currently seeking a full-time Maintenance Assistant. This position is responsible for ensuring resident and staff safety by being responsible for repairs to the facility building and furnishings.

The Maintenance Assistant will be required to work every other weekend.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures.
• Manage heating and plumbing systems to guarantee functionality.
• Plan and schedule repairs.
• Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is up to standard and code.
• Perform general maintenance tasks including painting, and carpentry.
• Clean and assist with upkeep of facility.
• Ice and snow ice removal.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 yrs. age required, HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Related work experience required.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and construction systems and methods.
• Basic knowledge of tools and their use.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry and painting skills.
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record required.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions required.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
• Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend and crawl into awkward spaces.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
