Position Description

Assist in maintaining the facility to ensure a sanitary, attractive, and orderly condition. Ensure the building is in good repair and free from hazards related to electrical, plumbing, ventilation, heating, and cooling systems. Reports to Plant Supervisor or Operations Manager and ensures compliance with state regulations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma.
• Knowledge of laundry, housekeeping, and maintenance procedures.
• Skilled in painting and patching.
• Minimum of 2 years work experience in long-term care preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular safety inspections and weekly walk-throughs of high-risk areas.
• Follow all prescribed Life Safety and Preventative Maintenance tasks in TELS, documenting as required for compliance.
• Develop a monthly maintenance schedule, allocating part of each day to preventive tasks.
• Maintain complete documentation of all maintenance activities, including parts and materials used.
• Keep logs and documentation in accordance with the Life Safety Manual and OSHA standards.
• Conduct daily rounds and prioritize work based on observations.
• Manage work orders electronically through the TELS system.
• Maintain electrical and mechanical equipment, making necessary adjustments and repairs.
• Ensure adequate supplies are available for daily tasks.
• Prepare resident rooms for new or discharged residents.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.
