Position Description
Assist in the maintenance of the facility to ensure a sanitary, attractive, and orderly condition; in good repair, free from hazards such as those caused by electrical, plumbing, ventilation, heating, and cooling systems. Reports to Plant Supervisor or Operations Manager and ensures compliance with state regulations.
Qualifications
- High School diploma.
- Knowledge of laundry, housekeeping, and maintenance procedures.
- Skilled at painting and patching.
- Minimum of 2 years work experience in long-term care preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Perform regular, scheduled safety inspections and weekly walk-throughs of high-risk areas.
- Follow all prescribed Life Safety and Preventative Maintenance tasks in TELS for compliance; document via fax/email as required.
- Prepare a monthly schedule for preventive maintenance, allocating part of each day to these duties.
- Maintain documentation of all maintenance activities, including records of replacement parts and materials used.
- Maintain logs and documentation in accordance with the Life Safety Manual and OSHA, including fire alarm tests, sprinkler inspections, emergency generator logs, and more.
- Perform daily rounds and use information to establish work priorities.
- Pick up work order requests daily, establish work priorities, and track electronically through TELS.
- Maintain electrical and mechanical equipment in good working order; adjust, lubricate, and clean parts as needed.
- Ensure adequate supplies for daily tasks.
- Prepare resident rooms for new or discharged residents.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
