Position Description

Assist in maintaining the facility to ensure a sanitary, attractive, and safe environment. Responsibilities include repairs related to electrical, plumbing, ventilation, heating, and cooling systems. Reports to the Plant Supervisor or Operations Manager and ensures compliance with state regulations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma.
• Knowledge of laundry, housekeeping, and maintenance procedures.
• Skilled in painting and patching.
• Minimum of 2 years work experience in long-term care preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety inspections and weekly walk-throughs of high-risk areas.
• Follow all Life Safety and Preventative Maintenance tasks as required for compliance, documenting as needed.
• Develop and maintain a schedule for preventive maintenance activities.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, parts, and materials used.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and Life Safety standards, maintaining required logs and documentation.
• Conduct daily rounds to assess and prioritize work needs.
• Manage work orders electronically through the TELS system.
• Maintain electrical and mechanical equipment, perform repairs, and report serious failures.
• Investigate damage causes and perform necessary repairs.
• Check and repair lighting, temperature controls, circuit breakers, and life safety systems.
• Maintain adequate supplies for daily tasks.
• Prepare resident rooms for new or discharged residents.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
