Edenbrook Rochester seeks a qualified Maintenance Assistant to support daily maintenance functions at our facility, ensuring equipment operates properly and grounds are well maintained.

The role emphasizes following maintenance schedules, collaborating with the Maintenance Supervisor, and adhering to safety

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in maintenance in senior living is preferred but not required.
• Experience with painting and general maintenance tasks preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in maintenance tasks is needed.
• Must be able to perform physical tasks (lifting, bending, standing).
• Experience with maintenance management systems is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Follow maintenance schedules for assigned shift or area.
• Assist Maintenance Supervisor in setting standards.
• Develop procedures for daily maintenance tasks.
• Coordinate maintenance with nursing staff in resident areas.
• Complete administrative forms and reports for the Supervisor.
• Submit accident/incident reports as they occur.
• Collaborate to ensure timely completion of tasks and projects.
• Maintain safety protocols and a safe environment for staff and residents.
• Assist in training new maintenance staff as required.
• Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and management.
• Support cleanliness and appearance of common areas and living spaces.

Position: Maintenance Assistant

Edenbrook Rochester, is a part of the Eden Senior Care Network, is seeking a qualified Maintenance Assistant to support the daily maintenance functions of our facility. The right candidate will ensure the facility's equipment and utilities are maintained in good working order and that facility grounds are adequately supported by facility policies and state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that maintenance schedules are followed as outlined for respective shift or area.
• Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in setting maintenance standards.
• Assist in developing procedures for performing daily maintenance tasks.
• Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing services when performing maintenance assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas.
• Perform administrative requirements (i.e., completing necessary forms, reports, etc.) and submit them to the Maintenance Supervisor as necessary.
• Submit accidents/incident reports to the Maintenance Supervisor on the shift in which they occur.
• Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor and other team members to ensure the completion of assigned tasks and projects within designated timelines.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for both staff and residents.
• Assist in training and supervising new maintenance staff as required.
• Maintain open and effective communication with residents, staff, and management to address maintenance-related concerns or requests promptly and efficiently.
• Support the overall cleanliness and appearance of the community through regular inspections and maintenance of common areas and resident living spaces.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Maintenance experience in senior living is preferred but not required
• Experience and skill in painting
• Experience with light repairs and general maintenance is required.
• Good telephone skills and the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in performing maintenance tasks.
• Ability to adequately perform the physical requirements of the position, which may include lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and operating maintenance equipment.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
• A caring, team-player attitude with a customer service-focused personality.
• Knowledge of healthcare maintenance standards, regulations, and procedures is preferred.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with maintenance management systems or software is desirable.
• High school diploma or equivalent education is required. Technical or vocational training in maintenance-related fields is a plus.
