The Inn Collection Group in Durham is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to ensure our inn’s facilities are safe, comfortable and well‑maintained. You’ll perform daily checks on boilers, electrical systems, fire safety equipment and carry out planned and unplanned repairs with basic plumbing, electrical and joinery skills.

Responsabilidades

• Daily checks on boilers, electrical systems and fire safety equipment.
• Inspect and replace light bulbs; secure fire doors.
• Inspect roofs, gutters and walkways; address hazards; maintain outdoor areas.
• Carry out planned maintenance tasks such as painting and grouting.
• Undertake unplanned repairs; basic plumbing, electrical and joinery work.
• Ensure compliance via ladder checks, fire alarm tests and utility readings.
• Contribute to a safe, comfortable environment with a proactive attitude.

As a Maintenance Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our facilities are safe, comfortable, and in excellent condition. Your responsibilities include daily checks on boilers, electrical systems, and fire safety equipment, along with inspecting and replacing light bulbs and securing fire doors. You’ll conduct regular inspections of roofs, gutters, and walkways to address hazards and maintain outdoor areas, including gardening and external housekeeping.

You’ll handle planned maintenance tasks like painting and grouting, as well as unplanned repairs. Basic plumbing, electrical, and joinery skills are essential, along with a focus on compliance through ladder checks, fire alarm tests, and utility readings. A proactive, can-do attitude will help you confidently tackle varied tasks with care and precision.
