Sunrise Senior Living is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to keep our community safe, clean, and well‑functioning for residents and staff in New York. You will complete assigned tasks, perform basic repairs, assist with painting, and support HVAC, plumbing, and safety inspections.

Qualifications

• Experience performing basic maintenance tasks in a residential or commercial setting.
• Ability to perform light plumbing, electrical, and appliance repairs.
• Familiarity with safety standards and preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned maintenance tasks and work orders.
• Perform basic repairs (plumbing, electrical, appliances, fixtures).
• Assist with painting and refurbishing projects.
• Support HVAC, water, and mechanical system maintenance.
• Perform preventative maintenance and safety checks.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and repair inventory.
• Support carpet and floor care as needed.
• Assist with suite make-ready preparation.
• Follow OSHA, fire safety, and infection control standards.
• Participate in emergency preparedness and fire drills.
• Drive community vehicle as assigned
