Hight Logistics is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to help keep our offices, break rooms, restrooms, and outdoor spaces clean, safe, and organized across our two locations. This role focuses on janitorial services and light building upkeep, with duties spanning basic repairs and facility projects.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year in facilities upkeep, understands basic maintenance techniques, and can operate hand and power tools safely.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in facilities maintenance or janitorial services.
• Basic knowledge of building maintenance and repair techniques.
• Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
• Detail‑oriented with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness of offices, break rooms, restrooms, common areas, and outdoor spaces through routine janitorial services.
• Perform regular facility inspections to identify maintenance needs and address issues.
• Complete general building repairs, including painting and wall patching; replacing light fixtures and bulbs; minor plumbing; door, lock, and hardware repairs; general fixture maintenance.
• Perform preventive maintenance on building equipment and facility systems.
• Keep outdoor areas clean and well-maintained.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders.
• Assist with office moves, furniture assembly, workstation setups, and special facility projects.
• Monitor facility conditions and report major repairs or safety concerns to management.
• Follow all company safety policies and maintain OSHA compliance.
• Support other facility-related projects and perform additional duties as assigned.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

• At least 1 year of experience in facilities maintenance, janitorial services, or general repair work preferred.
• Basic knowledge of building maintenance, electrical, and general repair techniques.
• Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• Excellent time management and the ability to prioritize work across multiple facilities.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Positive attitude and willingness to assist wherever needed.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and reach overhead.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to safely use maintenance tools, equipment, and cleaning products.
