Job summary

ADP, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Assistant in Dover, DE for a full-time role with a 2:00 pm–10:00 pm shift. The position includes weekend flexibility for banquets, paid sick time, and a supplemental insurance package.

Responsibilities include building and grounds maintenance, routine repairs, and assisting other departments with setups. A high school diploma or GED and a clean MVR are required, with a valid driver’s license. Benefits accompany the role.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED, or a one year certificate from college or technical school.
• Three to six months related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable MVR with 0 points at hire.

Responsibilities

• Receives written work orders or verbal instructions from supervisor.
• Cuts grass and trims weeds on the property.
• Cleans internal areas of buildings, including buffing, dusting, sweeping, and mopping.
• Paints interior and exterior walls and trim.
• Repairs parking lot and sidewalks; uses asphalt, cold patching materials, concrete.
• Operates snow removal equipment for parking lots and sidewalks.
• Repairs or replaces buildings with brick, stone, concrete.
• Maintains and repairs wood parts of buildings.
• Replaces worn parts such as hoses and belts in machines and equipment.
• Assists other departments with moving furniture and unloading supplies.
• Sets up rooms for banquets and cleans after events.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Monday – Friday 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm

SUMMARY

Maintains and repairs physical structures of buildings and maintains grounds by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receives written work orders or verbal instructions from supervisor.
• Cuts grass and trims weeds on the organization's property.
• Cleans internal areas of buildings, including buffing, dusting, sweeping, and mopping.
• Paints interior and exterior walls and trim.
• Repair parking lot and sidewalks with asphalt, cold patching materials, and concrete.
• Operates snow removal equipment to maintain parking lots and sidewalks.
• Repairs or replaces buildings with brick, stone, and concrete.
• Maintains and repairs wood parts of buildings.
• Replaces worn or damaged parts such as hoses and belts in machines and equipment, such as trucks and riding mowers.
• Assist other departments with moving furniture and unloading and storing supplies.
• Sets up rooms for banquets and cleans rooms after banquets.
• Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must show MVR with “0” points and present at the time of hire.
• Must be flexible to work some Saturdays and Sundays for our banquets.
• This position requires the use of a personal cell phone to be utilized during work hours (2:00 pm - 10:00 pm). A monthly stipend is provided.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) OR one year certificate from college or technical school; OR three to six months related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
